Jacob Regalado is in his second year assisting the
pitchers with the VC baseball team in 2013. He
joined the Pirate baseball program in 2007 after
completing a standout career at Rio Mesa High School
where he was the Pacific View League Pitcher of the
year in 2006. He served the VC pitching staff
as both a starting pitcher and reliever in his two
years on campus, requesting to take over the closer
role in 2008. He earned second-team All-WSC
honors in 2008 and was a member of the Pirates
regional team that year. After completing his
eligibility with Pirates he signed a scholarship to
attend Westmont College in Santa Barbara, an NAIA
school. He spent another two seasons as
both a starting pitcher in 2010 and a closer last
season. He spent this past summer pitching in
the Jim Colborn League in Ventura County, earning
league MVP honors. He joined the Pirate
coaching staff in fall to help work with the
pitching staff.
Regalado has one prior year of coaching experience,
working as an assistant at him alma mater, Rio Mesa
High School in 2009 under his former prep coach
David Solis. He plans to return to school next
year to begin work on earning his teaching
credential and aspires to continue coaching baseball
at either the collegiate or high school level. |
