WTen  5-5-2011 Five Ariel Bergthold and Layne Gallimore came into the Southern California Regional Tennis Championships seeded No. 8.  A trip to the quarterfinals would have qualified them for the state championships next week in Fresno, but it was not to be.  Bergthold and Gallimore lost their first match on Friday at Grossmont College in El Cajon, a match that was almost as close as it could get.  They dropped a two-set heartbreaker to Vorhees and Gourlay of Riverside Community College 7-5, 7-6 to end their season.  Bergthold also dropped her singles match at the regionals to Krista Cole of Desert, 6-3-6-1.
