WTennis Moves to Showdown

 WTen  4-24-2012 The No. 2 seed Ventura College women's tennis team advanced to the CCCAA SoCal Regional Finals with a 5-2 victory over Orange Coast on Tuesday at the VC Tennis Center.  The win sets up a showdown with the undefeated Pirates traveling to face the undefeated Palomar Comets Tuesday May 1 in a match for a state championship appearance.  Julianna Bacelar (No. 1), Jessica Worring (No. 2), and Sonia Landeros (No. 3) all dominated their singles competition, and Layne Gallimore (No. 4) produced a 6-4, 6-4 win.  The No. 1 doubles team of Bacelar and Gallimore also produced a 6-0, 6-0 win for the team victory.

 

     Players will participate in the Ojai Tournament April 26-29, with community college women's competition scheduled to be held in Ventura, and the team will travel to San Marcos on Tuesday May 1 for the SoCal Regional Finals at Palomar.
