The Ventura
College women's
water polo team bounced back from
its first conference loss in four
years with a pair of lopsided wins
at the Pasadena Mini Tournament
Friday afternoon. VC defeated
the host Lancers 14-5 in their first
match before handing Citrus a 17-8
defeat in the second contest.
Samantha Ebberson scored six
times on the day and
Anais Geysmonion found the back
of the net five times with a pair of
assists.
Emily Pinsky had four goals and
four assists.
Ventura 14,
Pasadena 5
Ebberson led a
balanced offensive attack with three
goals and three assists.
Pinsky scored three times while
Geysmonion recorded two goals and a
pair of assists.
Jenna Cutino and
Elizabeth Waller also scored two
goals each and
Olivia Barry and
Rebecca Ellis also scored.
Andrea Mallul had 10 saves in
the net for the Pirates.
Ventura 17,
Citrus 8
Geysmonion scored
four goals while
Jenny Paulsen converted for
three scores. Ebberson also
recorded three goals and
Margaret Mehrali had a goal, two
assists and three steals.
Pinsky had a goal with four assists
and Ellis also converted a score.
Barry led the defense with seven
steals.
Ventura (15-10, 3-1) will travel to Glendora for the WSC
Tournament at Citrus College Nov.
4-5. The Pirates will be the
No. 2 seed in the tournament where a potential rematch with Cuesta looms for the conference
championship.
