Pierce Brooks Named WSC Player of the Week

11-18-2009  Sophomore forward Pierce Brooks, who last played at the University of San Francisco in 2007-08, may be new to Ventura College but he is already making an impact in the early season.  He has been named the Western State Conference North Division Player of the Week for the period of Nov. 9-15.  In three games at the We Play Hard Tournament, Pierce scored 39 points with 25 rebounds, nine assists and three steals. He connected for 13 field goals and was 13 of 19 from the line. Pierce scored 23 points versus Orange Coast with eight rebounds and four assists.
