  July 20, 2007   Atlanta, Ga. -- The Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) announced its 2006-07 Academic Honor Roll.  Ventura College made the list for the fourth straight year with a 3.272 GPA, placing seventh on the list.  The Pirates are the only California team on the national list.  READ MORE...

 

  July 19, 2007   The program completed another successful run of the We Play Hard Basketball Camp for Boys and Girls.  In the two weeks of camps, 165 young players participated and learned some of what "We Play Hard"  means at Ventura College.  See Photos of Session 1 and Session 2.

 

 

  July 8, 2007   The Buena High School Bulldogs continued their dominance of the Ventura by the Sea Golden State Tournament, winning their fourth consecutive title of the Pirates' mid-summer tournament by defeating Chandler High School from Arizona 59-51.  The Bulldogs also won the JV tournament.  The Golden State Tournament is co-sponsored by VC, Ventura High School, and Buena High School.  SEE RESULTS... 

 

  June 25, 2007   The Q104-7 DJ's took advantage of a late Pirate turnover to defeat the VC alumnae team 80-78 in "JVJ7," the 7th Annual Jox vs. Jocks VC Women's Basketball Alumnae Game.  SEE MORE INFO ON THE EVENT...

Graduation 2007!

 

The Pirate Graduating Class of 2007!

 

Pirate sophomores (from left) Robin Austin, Sandy Perry and Veronica Williams at the College's graduation on May 16.  Austin is planning to attend school at Texas Christian University in Ft. Worth, Williams has verbally committed to play basketball at Cal State-Los Angeles, and Perry will attend Notre Dame de Namur University in Belmont, CA.

Mircetic Nears Benchmark
