Pirate Sophomore Jenelle Conklin

 

2006-07 at VC:  Played in 15 games for VC, starting eight, before a shoulder injury prematurely ended her season...Shot 51.5 percent from the floor while averaging 9.4 points per contest...Netted double figures in seven games...Given the Most Potential Award after the season...Pulled down 4.0 rebounds per game...Scored 10 points with seven boards vs. Contra Costa, 11/26...Scored a season-high 16 points twice, vs. Santa Ana 11/18 and vs. San Francisco, 12/17...Grabbed five-plus rebounds in six games...Had four steals vs. San Bernardino Valley , 11/14. 

 

High School:  Graduated from St. Joseph HS of Santa Maria in 2006... Played four years for the Knights and Coach Ron Barba...Was named 1st-Team All-CIF, 1st Team All-Los Padres League, and All-County as a senior...Was 1st in her league, 2nd in the CIF-SS, and 4th in the state in steals her senior year...Led the Knights to the CIF quarterfinals her junior and senior seasons...Was named 2nd-Team All-Los Padres League and 2nd-Team All-CIF as a junior...Also a standout volleyball player. 

 

Personal:  Born December 7, 1987 in Santa Maria...Has an older brother, Phillip, and a twin brother, Jacob...Parents are Phil and Lynn Conklin...Lists “hanging out with my friends and family among her hobbies”...The best thing about Jenelle’s life is “My family.  Everyone is loud and fun”...Aspires to be a motivational speaker when she grows up...”Never forget your roots,” is Jenelle’s favorite quote.
